“If Washington is serious about creating jobs, then it must get serious about growing the economy. Small businesses, family-owned businesses and entrepreneurs are the economic engines that will lead us through these difficult times.” – Carly Fiorina
Carly believes our nation’s top priorities should be economic growth and job creation. That means focusing our efforts on supporting the small businesses, family-owned businesses, innovators and entrepreneurs that employ more than 50 percent of Americans and create two-thirds of our nation’s new jobs.
If Washington is serious about encouraging job growth and innovation, politicians will stop talking about adding new, burdensome regulations, such as new health care mandates and higher energy costs. Instead, we should be focused on giving small-business owners and entrepreneurs the ability and the opportunity to grow and succeed by cutting taxes, reducing the burden of onerous business regulations and getting credit flowing again.
Especially given these tough economic times, Carly believes the last thing Washington should be talking about is raising taxes. That’s why she has signed the Americans for Tax Reform Taxpayer Protection Pledge promising that, as a U.S. senator, she will not vote for any new or increased taxes on California’s citizens or enterprises.
