Job Creators Say “Enough is Enough” to Barbara Boxer’s Job-Killing Policies

U.S. Chamber of Commerce, California Manufacturers and Technology Association and Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce Endorse Carly Fiorina

BAKERSFIELD, CA - During a press conference at ARRC Technology in Bakersfield, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the California Manufacturers and Technology Association (CMTA) and the California Chamber of Commerce today continued their two-day statewide tour rejecting Barbara Boxer’s 28-year record of failed leadership and urging Californians to instead support Carly Fiorina, a proven, tested leader with a clear plan to create jobs and grow the economy. Fiorina today also earned the endorsement of the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce (GBCC).

“Carly Fiorina knows firsthand the challenges facing companies across the nation that are struggling in this difficult economy, and she has consistently demonstrated her commitment to advancing policies that support the interests of businesses large and small,” said Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce President and Chief Executive Officer Debra Moreno. “As a U.S. senator, Carly will help produce sustained economic growth and create more jobs, and we are pleased to endorse her candidacy for U.S. Senate.”

The GBCC is a nonprofit association of business people committed to improving the economic climate and quality of life in the greater Bakersfield area. The Chamber represents businesses of all sizes and types and serves its membership of nearly 1,400 members, which together employ some 50,000 employees, by advocating for legislation that supports job creators, providing education opportunities for member companies and promoting the local community and local businesses.

“For 28 long years, Barbara Boxer has failed to fight for jobs, failed to fight for policies that spur economic growth and failed to fight for American companies. Today we are rejecting Boxer’s nearly three decades of failed leadership and antagonism toward California’s businesses,” said U.S. Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President and National Political Director Bill Miller. “Carly Fiorina, on the other hand, understands firsthand the challenges companies face every day and will fight for the policies in Washington we need so our companies can compete in the global marketplace and so our economy can recover, grow and flourish. That’s the reason we are endorsing Carly Fiorina for U.S. Senate.”

CMTA President Jack Stewart added, “During her nearly three decades in Washington, Barbara Boxer has made it increasingly difficult for manufacturers to do business in the United States by championing higher and higher taxes and stiffer and stiffer regulations. The path down which Boxer has driven our nation is littered with companies that have suffered as a result of these job-killing policies; that’s the reason we’re today charting a new course by endorsing Carly Fiorina for U.S. Senate. As a U.S. senator, Carly will advance policies that encourage economic growth, job creation and a less intrusive federal government in order to foster a business environment in which manufacturers and all California companies can thrive.”

“Carly Fiorina is the pro-business candidate for U.S. Senate. When jobs and the economy are the primary focus of all Californians, we would be well served to have a U.S. senator who has created private-sector jobs, has had to balance budgets and knows how unnecessary government regulation can stifle investment. Carly is a proven leader who will bring common-sense solutions to an out-of-touch political process in Washington,” continued California Chamber of Commerce President and Chief Executive Officer Allan Zaremberg."

“During Barbara Boxer’s 28 years in Washington, our nation’s job creators have suffered under the weight of sky-high taxes and burdensome regulations that make it harder to keep companies here in the United States and employ our fellow Americans. Today, I am standing with these job creators in rejecting Barbara Boxer’s failed leadership and her decades-long record of pressing for job-killing policies,” said Fiorina. “I come from the real world, and I know creating jobs and stimulating economic growth in the real world requires unleashing the talents and energies of California’s workers, small-business owners, innovators and entrepreneurs. If our economy is going to experience a real recovery, then we must send new leaders to Washington who will put job creation and economic growth first; that begins by defeating Barbara Boxer this November.”

Fiorina’s economic growth plan focuses on the principle that lower taxes, fewer burdensome regulations and more innovation will drive our nation’s recovery and growth. Specifically, she is advocating for policy changes that lower taxes, incentivize innovation and allow our nation to fight for every job. Fiorina also today hosted press conferences at Blue Diamond Growers in Sacramento and Renewable Power Solutions in San Jose. Yesterday, the first day of her two-day tour, Fiorina earned the endorsements of the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Fresno Chamber of Commerce.
