Rasmussen Poll Shows Carly Fiorina Closing the Gap With Barbara Boxer

SACRAMENTO, CA – Carly for California Deputy Campaign Manager for Communications Julie Soderlund today issued the following statement in response to the Rasmussen Poll released this morning:

“This poll is good news for Carly Fiorina and bad news for Barbara Boxer who, despite her constant Election Year pandering, still cannot break 50 percent with California voters. Meanwhile, Carly is closing in fast on Barbara Boxer, as a full 90 percent of Republicans – conservative and moderate – support her just days after a hard-fought primary. Barbara Boxer, on the other hand, should find it extremely worrisome that on Tuesday night, she was unable to earn the support of 20 percent of her own base.

“These numbers, combined with the fact that 65 percent of voters nationwide believe our country would be better off if most incumbents were defeated this November, is even more bad news for Barbara Boxer. The choice for California voters in this election could not be more clear: an out-of-touch career politician in Barbara Boxer, who has raised taxes by more than a trillion dollars and voted at every opportunity to expand the size and scope of government, versus Carly Fiorina, a political outsider who has met a payroll, created jobs, cut waste and understands that government isn’t the solution to every problem.”
