SACRAMENTO, CA – Carly for California Deputy Campaign Manager for Communications Julie Soderlund today issued the following statement regarding the Field Poll survey results, which show U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina leading the Republican primary race:
“The Field Poll confirms that, as more voters learn about Carly and her fiscally conservative values, they are increasingly supporting her candidacy for U.S. Senate. Carly’s proven leadership in creating jobs, meeting payrolls and managing budgets provides a stark contrast to Barbara Boxer’s disappointing career in politics, and voters recognize that Carly is the candidate best positioned to defeat her in November.
“Meanwhile, the more voters learn about Tom Campbell’s fiscal liberalism, tax increase proposals and support for bigger government, his support is diminishing quickly. We’ve seen both these trends reflected in numerous public and private surveys in the last few weeks, and we expect them to be confirmed as the returns come in on Election Night.
“In the meantime, Carly will take nothing for granted, and our campaign will continue to fire on all cylinders between now and next Tuesday to get out the vote for Carly.”
In the most recent polls, including those conducted for KABC, USC/Los Angeles Times and Capitol Weekly, Fiorina has led her primary opponents by anywhere from 14.5 points to 23 points. In the last three days until the primary election on June 8, Fiorina will be traveling around California to join campaign volunteers in getting out the vote for her campaign. Earlier today, she phone banked with supporters in San Diego and Palm Desert.
