Earns Endorsement of Associated Builders and Contractors of California
SAN DIEGO, CA – U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina was today joined at J&W Lumber in San Diego by local business owners and workers to kick off a statewide jobs tour highlighting the devastating effects of the job-killing policies Barbara Boxer has supported over the course of her 28 years in Washington.
“For 28 long years, Barbara Boxer has championed big-spending, government-growing, regulation-creating policies that have killed jobs and stifled economic growth. This is especially evident in the construction sector, where unemployment stands at an astounding 20.1 percent – more than twice the national rate,” said Fiorina. “Last week, Barbara Boxer toured construction sites across California to tout the jobs created by the economic stimulus plan. But since the stimulus was passed, more than 2.2 million Americans have lost their jobs, and unemployment in California has worsened by 1.2 percentage points. So I ask Barbara Boxer, ‘Where are the jobs?’”
Today’s stop is the first in a series of visits Fiorina will make to communities across the state in the coming weeks to discuss Barbara Boxer’s support for job-killing policies. Fiorina will also present to voters her own ideas for supporting real job creation and economic development. Specifically, Fiorina’s economic growth plan, released in April, focuses on growing the economy by lowering taxes, improving the ability of American businesses to fight for – and win – jobs and incentivizing innovation.
“Carly Fiorina understands that, in the real world, jobs are created when businesses and entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to grow and succeed – not when government intervenes, meddles or grows,” said Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of California Chairman Chris Lang. “California’s construction industry has been hard hit by our nation’s economic downturn. We need a leader who will work with us to get our economy moving again and our industry growing again. We need Carly Fiorina in the United States Senate.”
ABC is today recognized as one of the leading organizations representing America’s business community and the merit shop construction industry. ABC California has five chapters in the state: Central California, Golden Gate, Los Angeles-Ventura, San Diego and Southern California. ABC joins a growing group of business organizations supporting Fiorina’s candidacy for U.S. Senate. Fiorina has been endorsed previously by the Orange County Business Council, New Majority California and the California Farm Bureau Federation.
