KABC/SurveyUSA Poll Shows Carly Fiorina Taking a Commanding Lead

SACRAMENTO, CA – Carly for California Deputy Campaign Manager for Communications Julie Soderlund today issued the following statement in response to the KABC/SurveyUSA poll released this afternoon:

“Since declaring her candidacy in November, Carly has traveled across California talking to voters and inspiring volunteers to join her campaign. Her message that, together, we can take Washington back, make it listen and make it work for us by replacing Barbara Boxer with a true fiscal conservative with real-world experience is clearly resonating with Republican voters. Today’s poll confirms both that this hard work is yielding results and that voters are turning away from Tom Campbell as they have learned about his support for higher taxes and bigger government. We expect this momentum to continue building as we set the stage for victory on June 8.”

The poll shows Fiorina leading the Republican candidates for U.S. Senate with 46 percent support; her opponent, Tom Campbell, earns 23 percent of the vote. This represents a 34-point net gain for Fiorina since the last poll conducted by KABC/SurveyUSA was released May 11. Chuck DeVore trails a distant third, garnering the support of 14 percent of voters; 11 percent of voters remain undecided.

Last week, the Public Policy Institute of California released its poll of California’s U.S. Senate race, which showed Fiorina leading Campbell 25 percent to 23 percent. In that survey, DeVore garnered 16 percent support, with 36 percent of voters undecided.
