Carly Fiorina Issues Statement on Temporary Relief from Delta Pumping Restrictions

SACRAMENTO, CA – U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina today issued the following statement in response to U.S. District Judge Oliver Wanger’s decision to temporarily lift some of the Delta pumping restrictions that have severely limited water flow to California’s Central Valley:

“I applaud Judge Wanger for his recognition that the desire to protect a native fish must be balanced with the urgent need to protect the Central Valley economy and the families, businesses and communities whose livelihoods depend on the water that flows through the Delta pumps. Today’s decision represents a small victory for the people of California’s Central Valley. I am hopeful Judge Wagner will soon decide to take a similar action with respect to pumping restrictions imposed in the name of protecting the Delta smelt.

“Unfortunately, Barbara Boxer does not hold the same common-sense views. She has refused to lift a finger to help her own constituents who are struggling under the weight of sky-high unemployment in the Central Valley. Her decision to instead prioritize protecting fish and her abject failure to protect the people of the Central Valley is characteristic of her 28-year tenure in Washington. That’s why it’s so critical that we fire her this November.”
