Carly Fiorina Issues Statement on Rising Jobless Claims
May 20, 2010

SACRAMENTO, CA – U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina today issued the following statement in response to the Department of Labor’s report this morning that jobless claims across the nation increased by 25,000 last week, the largest jump in three months:

“I’m disappointed by the news this morning that jobless claims are again on the rise. This report only further confirms what the millions of unemployed Californians across the state already know: the big-government economic stimulus plan championed by Democrats like Barbara Boxer has not delivered results as promised. Instead, it has led only to an expansion of government and an even higher deficit.

“In order to stimulate true job creation and economic recovery, we must focus our efforts on making it easier to do business in America by cutting taxes and reducing burdensome regulation. Only then will our nation’s economic engines – small businesses, family-owned businesses, innovators and entrepreneurs – be able to grow, flourish and create jobs.”
