Fiorina also endorsed by Riverside City Councilman Rusty Bailey and Menifee City Councilman Scott Mann
RIVERSIDE, CA – U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina today announced having earned the endorsement of Riverside County Supervisor Marion Ashley, Riverside City Councilman Rusty Bailey and Menifee City Councilman Scott Mann.
“These dedicated individuals have served their communities, our state and our nation with commitment and distinction, and I’m thrilled to have them join me in calling for a return to fiscal responsibility and integrity in Washington,” said Fiorina. “Together, I am confident we will fire Barbara Boxer, who has lost touch with the very Californians she was elected to represent. In the real world, actions trump talk and problem-solving trumps partisanship, and that’s why I am running for U.S. Senate – because Washington needs a lot more common sense.”
A native of Riverside County, Ashley was elected to the Riverside County Board of Supervisors in 2002. During his tenure, he has also served as chairman of the Western Riverside Council of Governments and the Coachella Valley Association of Governments. Ashley was previously a member of the Riverside County Planning Commission and also served with the Eastern Municipal Water District. Prior to his career in public service, Ashley spent many years in the private sector, working as a certified public accountant and founding a real estate investment firm.
“Carly has the business know-how and the common-sense approach to politics necessary to make a real difference for California in the U.S. Senate,” Ashley said. “I am proud to endorse Carly’s campaign because I know she is a strong fiscal conservative who will fight in Washington for the best interests of Californians.”
Bailey was elected to the Riverside City Council in 2007 and currently chairs the council’s Land Use, Utility Services, Energy Development Committee. Prior to his service on the Council, Bailey served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot, a platoon leader and a company executive officer. He has also served with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Riverside County Economic Development Agency.
“Now, more than ever before, we need the voice of proven leadership and common sense advocating for California in our nation’s capital. Our state needs a U.S. senator who will fight for our jobs and make the tough decisions necessary to rein in federal government spending,” said Bailey. “Carly Fiorina is that individual, and I am proud to endorse her campaign today.”
Mann worked his way up the enlisted ranks in the U.S. Navy, beginning as a seaman recruit and retiring as a lieutenant commander after 24 years of service. He has worked with numerous education organizations, including the Hope Learning Academy, the Riverside Schools Insurance Authority, the Perris Union High School District and the Menifee Union School District. Mann was recently named City Councilman of the Year by PublicCEO for his work in growing the city’s economy by supporting local businesses and helping to create new jobs.
“Carly Fiorina is a true conservative who will apply her real-world experience to help create jobs and grow our economy as a member of the U.S. Senate,” said Mann. “After so many years of Barbara Boxer’s poor record of leadership, Carly is a breath of fresh air. She’s not a career politician, and she’s not beholden to the special interest groups that rule Washington. She’s exactly the advocate we need in the U.S. Senate fighting for California, and I am pleased to support her candidacy.”
