SACRAMENTO, CA – In reflection of the growing momentum behind her campaign, U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina today announced having raised $1.7 million in the first quarter of 2010.
“I am grateful to all the people from across California and the nation who are excited about my campaign and about the prospect of sending a real fiscal conservative to represent California in the U.S. Senate. Their generous support will help ensure we can continue to communicate with voters about how to bring back to Washington real-world problem-solving and a commitment to stopping government expansion,” said Fiorina. “I’m encouraged by the strong campaign team and network of grassroots support we have built in just five months. And as Election Day draws nearer, I look forward to continuing to discuss with voters how we can take back our government and make it work for us by ending Barbara Boxer’s career in Washington this November.”
Since the beginning of the year, Fiorina has earned the financial support of 5,861 individuals. Of these donors, two-thirds are from California and have together raised $1.07 million this quarter. The average donation was $266, and 81 percent of donors gave in amounts of $250 or less. In the first 90 days of the year, Fiorina banked $245,000 in online donations, bringing her total cash on hand to $2.8 million.
Since the launch of her campaign late last year, Fiorina has raised a total of $2.78 million from 8,285 individuals in all 50 states, including nearly 675 different cities and towns across California. The overall average donation made to Fiorina’s campaign was $290, and 79 percent of donors gave in amounts of $250 or less. Since announcing her candidacy for U.S. Senate in November, she has raised $458,000 online. In addition to the generous support she has received from others, Fiorina loaned her campaign $2.5 million last year.
