Carly Fiorina Issues Statement on Rising Unemployment
April 16, 2010

SACRAMENTO, CA – U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina today issued the following statement in response to the California Employment Development Department’s report this morning that unemployment ticked up to 12.6 percent in March 2010, a 2 percent increase from this time last year:

“While I am glad to see that our state’s economy has added some jobs since last month, our unemployment rate’s continued upward trend reveals the fact that 2.3 million out-of-work Californians know all too well: that Barbara Boxer has failed to deliver results for the people of this state.

“No amount of Boxer’s Election Year rhetoric can hide her failure to stand up for Californians during these difficult economic times. Instead of championing policies that will grow the economy by cutting taxes or making it easier to create jobs, Boxer has instead pressed for high-cost big-government stimulus programs that have failed to yield the jobs we were promised. It’s no surprise that Californians continue to be disappointed by her performance in the U.S. Senate and are calling for an Election Day revolt.”
