SACRAMENTO, CA – Carly for California Deputy Campaign Manager for Communications Julie Soderlund today issued the following statement in response to the Public Policy Institute of California survey showing Carly Fiorina leading the three-way Republican primary race for California’s U.S. Senate seat. Today’s report reflects a 12-point net gain for Fiorina since the last PPIC poll, which was released January 27:
“Today’s poll represents yet more bad news for Barbara Boxer. After 28 years in Washington, she has failed to deliver results for the Californians who elected her; clearly, California voters have had enough.
“This poll also demonstrates that, as the choices in this race become clearer, Carly is the best candidate to take on Barbara Boxer in the fall. Support for Carly’s candidacy is growing as voters learn that she is a fiscal conservative who will not vote to raise taxes and that she is the only candidate in this race who has created a job or met a payroll. In addition, Tom Campbell has begun to lose some of his initial name identification-driven support as more Republicans learn the truth about his record of support for more government spending and for tax increases of all kinds. This is an encouraging trend that we expect to continue throughout the primary.”
