IRVINE, CA – During a speech before the Republican Party of Orange County Central Committee, U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina today discussed her background as a political outsider, her campaign to defeat Barbara Boxer and her commitment to job creation and controlling government spending.
“Barbara Boxer’s 18-year tenure in the U.S. Senate has been marked by bitter partisanship, ineffective leadership and few results for the people of California. Now, more than ever, we need an advocate in Washington with real-world experience and a good dose of common sense – not just another career politician,” said Fiorina. “If we want to change Washington, we first need to change the people we send there to represent us. As a U.S. senator, my top priorities will be to make the tough decisions necessary to control skyrocketing government spending and to champion policies that support our nation’s economic engines and job creators.”
Fiorina declared her candidacy for U.S. Senate in Orange County last November. Since then, she has traveled up and down the state talking to the people of California about their concerns regarding our state’s representation in Washington and about solutions to the biggest challenges facing their families and communities. Recent campaign stops include Novato, Fresno, Colton, San Diego, Sacramento and Oakland.
The Orange County Republican Party was established to build a stronger Republican voting base in Orange County through voter registration programs, robust Get Out The Vote efforts and effective fundraising. The organization supports Republican candidates at the local, state and federal levels.
